Refund Policy
In short
Payments for TariffWise plans are final. We refund only in the narrow cases listed under "The only exceptions". You can cancel at any time from your account, and cancelling stops every later renewal.
All payments are final
A TariffWise plan is a monthly or yearly subscription for access to the service, with the classification volume, seats and features shown on the pricing page. You pay for access for a period, and that access is granted in full when the period starts, whether or not you use it. The live classifier on the homepage and the three saved classifications in a new account let you judge the product before you pay. By subscribing you ask us to start providing the service immediately.
What is never refunded
- Changing your mind or no longer needing the service.
- Not using, or using only part of, the classification volume in a paid period.
- A renewal charged after one or more failed attempts, because the new period had already started and its access had been granted.
- Forgetting to cancel before a renewal date, or cancelling right after one.
- Dissatisfaction with an AI classification, rationale or landed-cost estimate. Output is a best-effort estimate and is not a binding customs ruling.
- Choosing the wrong plan, billing period or number of seats.
- The unused part of a period after cancellation. Access runs to the end of the paid period and is never pro-rated.
- Use of your account by anyone you shared your login with.
The only exceptions
We refund only where one of the following applies, only where it can be shown from the transaction and account records, and only up to the affected charge:
- Duplicate charge. You were billed twice for the same period because of a fault in our billing.
- Proven unauthorised charge. Someone used your card without your authority, you report it within 14 days, and the records held by us and by our payment provider support the claim.
- Total failure of service. A confirmed fault on our side made the service entirely unusable for a continuous period, you reported it at the time, and we could not resolve it. Partial slowness and problems with your own device, browser or network are excluded.
Where a refund is granted, it is limited to the amount paid for the affected period and goes back to the original payment method only.
How to request one
Email [email protected] within 14 days of the charge, with the email address of your account and the date and amount of the payment. Requests made after 14 days are not considered. Starting a chargeback instead of writing to us first breaches our Terms and leads to closure of the account.
Renewals, failed payments and cancelling
Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel it from your account settings. Cancelling stops all later renewals and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. It does not reverse a payment already taken. If a charge fails, our payment provider retries it over the following days; those retries relate to a period that has already started and are not a second charge. Moving to a more expensive plan charges the prorated difference at once, and moving to a cheaper plan leaves the unused part as a credit on your account that is not paid out.
What we keep on record
For every subscription we keep the date and time of purchase, the plan and price shown at checkout, your acceptance of our Terms, the confirmation email, renewal notices and an activity log of the account. Our payment provider keeps its own record of each transaction, including the result of bank authentication. Refund claims are assessed against these records.
